The Fast Food

The Fast Food Model

Much the population eats junk food, and they love it. Junk food became popular after War World II, and there are a lot of restaurants that make it such as KFC, A&W, Wendy’s, McDonald, and Burger King. Because fast food is cheap and easy to make, it has impacted sit down restaurants in two ways: fast food restaurants take business away from traditional restaurants, and can offer jobs for the unskilled.
First, fast food restaurants take business away from sit down restaurants. The restaurant will make a lot of money because the majority of people might buy fast food every day, or they will eat it three times a week.  A lot of people are able to buy fast food even if they are poor because the cost for the meal may be just one dollar. In the article “The Fast-Food Revolution”, Arline Burgmeier (2012) explains that modern or new model restaurants change the way traditional restaurants serve food by using new systems such as drive thrus, and new technology helps fast food restaurants to serve faster and less formally(p.99).  For example, people who buy a hamburger from McDonald get it with paper wrapper and napkin.  As a result that sit down restaurants have less people because fast food restaurants are taking a business away from them.
Another effect is that the fast food restaurants can offer a job for unskilled workers. In the other words, anyone can make fast food even if he does not know how to cook; he can work at the restaurant, and the restaurant will help him to learn cook. As a result fast food restaurants expand nationwide; people who are students able to get a job. For instance, anybody can apply for job at junk food restaurants even if he is not familiar with or he does not have any skilled. In article “ The Fast-Food Revolution” Arline Burgmeier (2012), shows that fast food does not need a professional to cook it and each worker has his or her jobs to do such as someone cooks hamburgers other cooks french fries (p.98). For example, no special skills are needed to serve a soda. McDonald’s is widespread, and offer a job to lots people and college students. The result that unskilled workers can find a job is that fast food restaurants offer a job to them and help them to learn.

Overall, the effect of junk food restaurant is offering a job to unskilled and taking people away from sit down restaurants. Many people rely on fast food restaurants lots because they are cheap and easy to find it. The fast food restaurants will continue to be successful in the future and a lot of people will eat it.
